Jeremiah Daniel Jett - Freeman

Anyone that knew my son, Jeremy Jett-Freeman, will remember how much he enjoyed family and friends. He was also very proud to have served in the US NAVY protecting the rights of all Americans. His time on one of the ships was shared by his Dad and Grandad during the Tiger Cruise in 2002 on the USS John C Stennis. Jeremy is buried at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley. It's good for my heart that he can be so close to me. From time to time as we visit Jeremy's gravesite, we have noticed several interments without anyone in attendance. Whatever the reason(s), some of these veterans seem to have been forgotten. This is constantly saddening to me. This year I would like to attempt to get a wreath placed at each and every veteran's gravesite. For one fleeting moment, on one special day, I would like each and every one of these brave and compassionate souls to be remembered, maybe not for all of the things that they did or did not do in their lives, but for the one common reason why they are here. The one simple fact that they served in our Armed Forces, in one capacity or another, to protect the American citizens' right to be free. To live in a free society. To make choices and have rights that are offered no where else in the world. To be who you want to be, go where you want to go, live how you want to live, and love who you want to love. Please take a moment to reflect on how your life might be without freedom and then consider a show of gratitude to one of the many that have served. It will make your heart feel good.
